Boutique Hotels on Phuket

The beautiful beaches and scenery of Phuket have been attracting Thai and overseas tourists for decades. Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and is linked to the mainland by the Sarasin road bridge. The most convenient way to arrive is via the international airport located in the north of the island (flight time to and from Bangkok is around 1 hour 25 minutes).
Located on the Andaman Coast, Phuket appeals to all types of visitor, whether you just want to laze on a beach or do something more active. The island is home to world class golf courses and is also rated as having some of the best waters in the world for diving and snorkeling. Phuket also hosts some of the best boutique hotels in Asia.
Phuket Beaches
Phuket's best beaches and most attractive coastline can be found on the west of the island. Patong remains as the most popular and consequently most developed beach on Phuket. At the other extreme, the 17 kilometre long Mai Khao beach in the north of the island is Phuket's quietest beach forming part of Sirinath National Park. Karon is Phuket's second most popular beach after Patong and located a few minutes' drive from Karon are the pretty twin beaches of Kata Yai and Kata Noi.
Phuket Weather
The best weather in Phuket is usually between November and April and this coincides with the tourist high season. All accommodation over the Christmas and New Year period tends to fill up very quickly and early booking is strongly recommended. Phuket's west coast beaches suffer the most from the effects of the south-west monsoon which blows in wind and rain between May and October. There is still plenty of sunshine during the low season and it's not necessarily a bad time to visit with lower rates for hotels, but the tropical downpours can result in rough seas which become unsuitable for swimming.
